Children's activities and services
Please note all of our programs are temporarily suspended.
Our Storytime sessions are a wonderful introduction to the library for small children and are heaps of fun. We aim to produce an exciting and engaging program that centres on a different theme each month.
There are different Storytime sessions for specific age groups:
- Baby Bounce - for babies aged 6-18 months
- Toddler Time - for children aged 18 months - 3 years
- Storytime - for children aged 3-5 years
Storytime is held at each of our libraries during the school term:
- Queanbeyan - 10am on Wednesday mornings
- Bungendore - 10.45am on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month
- Braidwood - 10.30 am on the 2nd Wednesday of the month
Toddler Time is held at Queanbeyan at 10am Mondays during the school term.
Baby Bounce is held at Queanbeyan at 10am on Fridays during the school term.
School holiday activities
Looking for something to do during the school holidays? Why not visit the library and get creative. Fun activity sessions are held each school holidays for primary school children. Visit our What's On page for more details.
Our STEAM Club is a fun monthly workshop focusing on experimenting, design, building and playing. The library has a growing STEAM collection including lego, spheros, coding, makey makey, bloxels, chibitronics, mindstorms, osmo and more. For ages 8 and over. It is held on the last Thursday of every month from 3.30-4.30pm in the Queanbeyan library activity room.
Home library service to new parents
Have you recently had a baby and are finding it hard to get to the library? Let the library come to you. We are now offering a home library service to parents of newborns to 12 weeks old. Our team will select items for you based on your preferences and deliver them to your door. Contact us for more details.
