Can I borrow and return at any library branch?
Queanbeyan-Palerang Library membership card to borrow from Braidwood, Bungendore or Queanbeyan Libraries. You can return items at any branch. You can also request material from the Queanbeyan-Palerang Libraries to be delivered to any branch for collection.
Does the library accept donations?
We are not accepting donations at this time.
Does the library accept books for Lifeline?
We are not accepting books for Lifeline at this time. You can contact Lifeline directly here http://www.act.lifeline.org.au/Bookfair/donating-books-and-other-items
Is there anywhere I can donate books?
You can donate books to the Lions Community Bookshop which is located at the Queanbeyan Town Park, 1 Lowe Street.
How can I extend the loan period on my loans?
You can renew your loans by coming into any of our libraries, phoning a branch with your card and membership number handy, or you can renew online. Your user ID is your membership number and your password in your date of birth ddmmyyyy.
Can I borrow books from the ACT Library Service with my Queanbeyan library card or vice versa?
No, we are a separate library service to the ACT. You will need to join the Libraries ACT to access their services.
Can the library get a book for me that it does not currently hold?
Yes, you can request a book from another library service by filling out an Inter-Library Loan form in the library, or downloading here and completing, printing and bringing into the library. There is a charge for inter-library loans. Alternatively you can make a suggestion for the library to purchase the item by filling out a form in the library or completing online here.
Can I suggest a book purchase for the Library?
Yes, you can by completing a Suggestion for Purchase Form either in the Library or completing online here.
Can the library send a fax for me?
We do not offer fax facilities.
Does the library have computers available for public use?
Yes, all branches have computers with internet access, plus word processing and spreadsheet programs. All libraries also have Wifi facilities if you wish to bring in your own computer or device. If you have a library card you can use it to log onto a public computer, otherwise our staff will give you a guest pass.
Can I borrow without my card?
If you have forgotten to bring your card, you can still borrow, provided you have some other ID. However it is much quicker and easier to bring your card.
Does the library have photocopiers?
All branches provide photocopying facilities for a fee. Black and white copies are 25c a sheet for A4 and A3. Colour copies are $1 a sheet for A4 and $1.50 for A3.
