How to join and borrow
Joining the library
All members of the public are welcome to freely access and use facilities in any of the three library branches. Library membership, which enables people to borrow material and access online services, is available to residents in the Queanbeyan-Palerang region. Visit a library branch with proof of your name. A library card will be issued and you can begin accessing library services immediately. Children under 16 need a parent or guardian with them in order to join. Parents or guardians need to provide a Medicare card linking them to the child.
If you wish create a digital membership online, you can fill out a form here. This digital membership will allow access to our online resources. Please note digital memberships expire after 3 months. To obtain a full membership you will need to visit a library branch within that timeframe with identification that includes your name and current address.
For people not residing permanently in the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council area or the surrounding region, a temporary library card can be issued. Temporary borrowers may borrow up to six items for a period of two weeks. Temporary membership will be reviewed after two months.
Items can be renewed in person at any library branch, by telephoning 6285 6255 with your library card number, or online (which requires your password - date of birth ddmmyyyy).
