More about this event:

Queanbeyan-Palerang Libraries is proud to present an author talk with Emma Grey.

In 2016, Emma Grey’s husband died unexpectedly from a heart attack. He was 57, she was just 42. Suddenly a widow and single mother of 3, including their five-year-old son, she had to find a way to navigate her new world. Writing was a refuge in her grief. She published three books and co-wrote a musical. She became a spokesperson for the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, sharing her family’s story to help raise funds for heart research, and met with politicians and app developers to help streamline death admin and encourage health checks.

In The Last Love Note, her first adult fiction title, Emma draws on her lived experience of being widowed so young. It’s a fictional tribute to the love she shared with her husband; an attempt to articulate the magnitude of her loss and a life-affirming commitment to hope. The Last Love Note is a sparkling romantic comedy with a heartbreaking twist, and will convince you once-in-a-lifetime love really can strike twice.
