Children's activities and services 

Storytime

Our Storytime sessions are a wonderful introduction to the library for small children and are heaps of fun. We aim to produce an exciting and engaging program that centres on a different theme each month.

There are different Storytime sessions for specific age groups:

• Baby Bounce - for babies aged 0 - 18 months
• Toddler Time - for children aged 18 months - 3 years
• Storytime - for children aged 3-5 years

Baby Bounce is held at Queanbeyan at 10am on Fridays during the school term.

Toddler Time is held at Queanbeyan at 10am Mondays during the school term.

Storytime at Queanbeyan Library is held at 10:00am on Wednesdays during the school term.
Storytime at Bungendore Library is held at 11:00am on Thursdays during the school term.
Storytime at Braidwood Library is held at 10:00am on Wednesdays during the school term.

Music Play

Experience the joy of music through singing, movement and percussion whilst learning the fundamentals of music, pitch and rhythm in a supportive and fun group environment. This 45-minute program is designed for children aged 3-5 years and will be run by Emma Zen every Wednesday morning at 11.15am at Queanbeyan Library during school terms.

School holiday activities

Looking for something to do during the school holidays? Why not visit the library and get creative. Fun activity sessions are held each school holidays for primary school children. Visit our What's On page for more details.

Discover the world of science in this four week program for children aged 3 to 5 years. Through a series of experiences and activities using everyday objects, children will learn the basics of science: collecting, classifying, measuring and experimenting. The Little Bang Discovery Club runs for four weeks each term. Visit our What's On page for more details.

STEAM Club

Our STEAM Club is a fun monthly workshop focusing on experimenting, design, building and playing. The library has a growing STEAM collection including lego, spheros, coding, makey makey, bloxels, chibitronics, mindstorms, osmo and more. For ages 8 and over. Home library service to new parents

Have you recently had a baby and are finding it hard to get to the library? Let the library come to you. We are now offering a home library service to parents of newborns to 12 weeks old. Our team will select items for you based on your preferences and deliver them to your door. Contact us for more details.
